THE VATTING - Top single malts married
A blended malt, or 'vatting', is a marriage of single malt Scotch whisky from different distilleries. We at Murray McDavid love blended malt. Rather than celebrate the individual spirit of just one distillery, The Vatting range showcases the diverse array of flavours found in the Scotch whisky universe. These elegant complex whiskies offer a symphony of aromas and flavours that could not be achieved with one single malt alone.
The Speysiders is back with another batch – an ensemble of four single malts from Speyside – distilled, matured and blended within little over 10 miles of each other. Our Whisky Creations Team at Coleburn Distillery have married single malts from Craigellachie, Glenlossie, Linkwood and Miltonduff.
Blended in 2019, the malts have integrated beautifully. We have added an extra layer of luxury by finishing The Speysiders for six months in freshly emptied PX Sherry casks from our Spanish partners, Ximénez-Spínola, in Jerez. A moreish dram showcasing the splendour of Speyside whiskies.
