Amrut Distilleries is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Fusion Single Malt Whisky, with an exclusive release of Amrut Fusion X. Fusion Single Malt Whisky, is their flagship whisky and is sold around the world. This exciting special edition pays homage to their late Chairman and MD, Shri. Neelaknta Rao Jagdale. Neel was known as the Father of Indian Single Malts and was instrumental in perfecting the complexity of Amrut Fusion. Now, 10 years later, the distillery is popular for being one of the most innovative and admired distilleries and their single malts are sought-after around the world.
Amrut Fusion X is a whisky collectors dream
The Fusion X is a more mature version of Fusion that has matured for four additional years in Px-Sherry Butts. This additional time in casks gives a dimension to this spirit unlike what you find in other Amrut spirits. Distillers at Amrut chose a unique vessel for Fusion X, making it a collector’s item for whisky lovers worldwide. Amrut Fusion X is bottled in hand made porcelain bottles with a beautiful print and a sketch of Neel on the label. The cork was also handpicked and shipped from Portugal and the porcelain bottle comes nestled inside a lush velvet bag.
Fusion X nods to the future of whisky
On the top of every Amrut Fusion X bottle is a unique aspect, never seen before on any Indian spirit. On the cap you’ll find a NFC chip which adds safety to these collectable whiskies. By simply tapping your smartphone on the bottle, you’ll discover if this is the first time someone is opening it. In addition to this state-of-the-art security, you’ll also unlock a wealth of knowledge about the whisky itself.
Paying tribute to the past
Amrut Distillery was originally founded in 1948 and is very much a family business. Over the past 70 years it has come a long way now producing some of the most sought-after Indian spirits across the globe. Each milestone along the way was made possible because of the passion of the Amrut team. Fusion X is a tribute to the late Chairman Neel and shows the great deal of respect Amrut gives to those who have been instrumental in pushing them to the world stage.

Amrut Fusion X is a limited release with complex and enticing tasting notes
Because Fusion X is an exclusive release, it has a very limited bottling with only 1010 bottles throughout the globe. At Glass Revolution Imports we will have Fusion X in early 2021 with 216 bottles available. As a sneak peek into the flavors of the whisky, the head distiller at Amrut Distilleries, Ashok Chokalingam, prepared tasting notes. These notes nod to the depth and incredible flavors you’ll experience with Fusion X.
If you are one of the lucky buyers of this exquisite whisky, you’ll notice the color is a golden syrup. Chokalingam describes the experience on the nose of an array of tropical fruits and salted caramel transforming into toffee fudge. Once you taste the spirit, you’ll enjoy a sweet orange note transforming into loads of tropical fruits. The flavors are enormously complex on the palate, showcasing the notes of dried fruits, vanilla cream, toffee fudge, and an inviting oak note. The finish is sweet, spicy, and phenolic leaving you craving another taste.
