Fox Fitzgerald
For many years Eamonn Jones and Aidan Smith managed markets around the globe for some of the most respected names in the whisky industry: - Ian Macleod Distillers - owners of Glengoyne, Tamdhu, Rosebank and Whyte and Mackay - Dalmore, Jura, Fettercairn. - Bruichladdich Distillery, whiskies and The Botanist gin. Industry change leading: Waterford Distillery. - Renegade Rum.
Throughout this time they built up an unparalleled network of contacts with industry giants, individual distilleries, whisky brokers and private individuals to ensure continued access to great casks of whisky. Casks worthy of being bottled under The Rest and Be Thankful brand a part of Fox Fitzgerald Whisky Trading Co. Ltd.
Fox Fitzgerald was established in 2010 based on pretty simple logic : we had worked for over 20 years with lots of great distilleries and with lots of great importers around the world – if we were able to connect the two whether via brands we create or represent or via sourcing rare stocks for them, then the chances were we would have a great business on our hands! Hence Fox Fitzgerald has become: Brand creators, Independent Bottler of fine spirits, and management of third-party brands
Distillery Highlights
Rest & Be Thankful started bottling back in 2012.
We've crafted over 50 bottlings from over 20 distilleries.
These include: Bruichladdie, Bunnahabhain, Highland Park, Macallan, Octomore, Port Charlotte and Springbank to name a few.The name Rest & Be Thankful comes from the inscription on a stone made by soldiers who built a military road in 1753 in the West coast of Scotland; the road out of Glen Croe was so long and so steep that it was traditional for travellers to rest at the top and be thankful for having reached the highest point.
Nearly 300 Years later, we want the joy of relaxing with a dram of a Rest & Be Thankful bottling, to have that same feeling of joy and satisfaction; one cannot always enjoy a dram at one of the most beautiful spots in Scotland but one can enjoy a taste of the unique beauty of Scotland anywhere in the world.Officially it is the A83 Trunk Road. For centuries however travellers have known it as the Rest and Be Thankful.
At the top they have welcomed the chance to draw their breath and enjoy the view as they crossed the summit at 860 feet on the road that leads from Loch Long to Loch Awe via Glen Croe and past the picturesque Butterbridge into Glen Kinglas.
